Seven Turkish-Bulgarian mayors from country’s Kardzhali boycotted President Rumen Radev not welcoming him at the airport on his visit to the region. Mayors from the Movement for Rights and Freedom Party (HÖH) that has the majority of Turks as its members in the country did not meet President Radev, who’s on a two-day-visit in the region, in response to the question “Where’s your homeland?” stated by the president addressing party’s leader, Mustafa Karadayı.
President Radev had held a meeting over consulting the framework of the government with (HÖH) leader Mustafa Karadayı last month where he addressed the question “Where’s your homeland?”
The question caused tense moments between the president and the party’s leader Karadayı where he had responded “Bulgaria is our homeland, if rely on historical facts, the outcome will show that many homelands come from one ancient land.”
