Numerous women in Türkiye’s Istanbul took to the streets on the first anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death yesterday. The demonstrators held placards reading ‘Woman, Life, and Freedom’ and shouted slogans against violence against women.
Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman, died after getting arrested in Tehran on September 13 last year for not applying Iran’s strict dress code for women.
