President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during the 13th Türkiye Investment Conference of the Turkish-American Business Council in New York, emphasized the importance of diversifying economic cooperation with the United States alongside political relations. He noted the growth in bilateral trade volume over the past decade and aimed to exceed $32 billion by the end of 2022. President Erdoğan expressed the aspiration to reach $100 billion in trade, highlighting opportunities in natural gas and oil exploration, the Istanbul Finance Center, and plans to make Istanbul an ‘energy hub.’ He also mentioned increased tourism and Türkiye’s role as a regional production and service base for American companies. Furthermore, he discussed the positive post-election atmosphere and strengthened confidence in Türkiye’s economic stability.
Russian Presidential aide Nikolay Patrushev announced that President Vladimir Putin signed the draft strategy for the development of the Russian Navy through 2050.
Patrushev stated that the final draft was signed on May 30, following its preparation by the Ministry of Defense and revision by the Maritime Board. The strategy incorporates proposals from various federal institutions and organizations. The initiative was launched after a Kremlin meeting in July 2024.
