US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel during the 6th day of the Israel-Hamas conflict. He was welcomed by Israeli officials, including Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, and had meetings planned with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and other senior figures. Blinken’s trip also includes a visit to Amman, Jordan, to meet with Jordanian officials and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
Before his departure from the USA, Blinken conveyed unequivocal support on behalf of President Joe Biden and the American people for Israel and its people. He expressed his commitment to working with Israeli counterparts to locate and secure the release of captives held by Hamas, including US citizens.
