Azerbaijan celebrated the third anniversary of its victory in the Second Karabakh War and the liberation of Shusha on November 8, 2020. The celebrations in Baku featured parades with military bands at four locations in the capital, involving students from the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Haydar Aliyev. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev changed the date of Victory Day to November 8, aligning it with the liberation of Shusha to avoid coinciding with the death anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The celebrations were well-received by the citizens.
