Many coastal districts of Türkiye’s Izmir province were flooded by the sea that overflowed due to the storm that started at night. People stranded in flood waters were rescued with boats and pickup trucks. Some citizens went out to save their cars on the streets, while others lost theirs to floodwaters.
A yellow code warning was issued for the city on the previous days.
