A 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Mindanao Island in the south of the Philippines at 22:37 local time yesterday. Following the earthquake that occurred at a depth of 32.8 km, a tsunami warning was issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). Waves up to 40 cm in height hit Japanese coasts after the jolt.
