The Marapi Volcano, situated in western Sumatra Island, Indonesia, erupted while 75 climbers were in the vicinity. Authorities confirmed the deaths of 11 climbers and initiated a search for 12 others who went missing. However, the search was later suspended due to a subsequent smaller eruption.

India’s domestically built HAL Tejas fighter jet crashed during a demonstration flight at the Dubai Airshow in the UAE, killing the pilot. The aircraft burst into flames moments after takeoff.
The Indian Air Force confirmed the pilot’s death, and an investigation is underway. The cause of the crash is still unknown. This is the second reported crash involving a General Electric-powered Tejas aircraft, following an incident during a 2024 exercise in India.
