A Japanese volcano spewed ash into the sky after it erupted, raising the 5-scale volcanic risk warning level to 3, Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced Wednesday. Officials warned people to steer clear of the threat as Aso volcano on Kyushu island in the southwest of the country flows lava and falling rocks. No immediate reports of casualties reported. Aso mount spewed plumes of ash 3.5 km high when it erupted at about 11:43 a.m. local time in Kyushu Island. After the eruption of Aso volcano, located in Kumamoto province, known as the largest active volcano in Japan, the ash falls from the 1,592-meter-mountain expected to shower nearby towns until the end of the day.
