Nemrut Crater Lake, which was awarded the “Excellence Award” by the European Distinguished Destinations Project, turned white after the snowfall. Although it is covered with approximately 30 centimeters of snow, the region continues to host people who want to enjoy the view. Citizens who equip their vehicles with snow tires are heading to the lake for a picnic.
“People still come here under difficult conditions despite the cold weather. They bring their barbecues and samovars. Although this is a beautiful place, it is also dangerous. The roads get blocked during snowfall. We want citizens coming to the region to be careful,” said Lecturer Dr. Cihan Önen.
“Even at this time, we come here to have a picnic and enjoy. This region should be appreciated,” said another visitor.
