During the ongoing budget discussions at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Saadet Party’s Kocaeli Deputy Hasan Bitmez collapsed after delivering his speech. İYİ Party’s Balıkesir Deputy Turan Çömez and fellow deputies rushed to his aid, administering cardiac massage for approximately ten minutes on the Assembly floor. Bitmez was subsequently transported by ambulance to Bilkent City Hospital for further medical attention.
Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca addressed the incident, stating, ‘Saadet Party’s Kocaeli Deputy, Mr. Hasan Bitmez, fell ill during his speech in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The Assembly’s Health Team promptly intervened, initiating cardiac massage. After being intubated, our deputy was transferred to Ankara Bilkent City Hospital, undergoing immediate angiography and subsequent cardiac treatment. Currently under intensive care with respiratory support, we hope for his swift recovery.’
