Deadly Storm Sweeps Eastern US: 3 Dead

A destructive storm wreaked havoc across the eastern United States, claiming at least three lives and leaving 630 thousand households without electricity. Florida bore the brunt, witnessing vehicular displacement and property damage due to intense winds. Emergencies were declared in parts of Florida, leading to the removal of power poles. Meanwhile, a dozen tornadoes tore through Florida, causing home damages, while Alabama and Georgia also reported structural destruction.

The storm’s impact disrupted air travel, resulting in over 1,300 flight cancellations nationwide, even affecting US Vice President Kamala Harris’s travel plans. Harris’s spokesperson clarified that her aircraft, departing from Atlanta, had to reroute to Virginia due to adverse weather conditions while returning to Washington DC.
