A cable car, fell from a height of 30 meters at the Jested Mountain in Czechia’s Liberec region, killed the cabin operator. The second cabin, following the falling cabin, was suspended on the line at a height of 15 meters. According to reports, one operator and thirteen passengers in the second cabin were rescued without injury by firefighters who arrived on the scene. “Our units carried out the evacuation of 14 people who did not suffer any injuries, using ladders with high-altitude technology.” Liberec Fire Brigade spokesman David Kornek said.
It was stated that the cable car, which was out of service for more than 100 days due to the corona virus measures, will be closed for routine maintenance for 2 weeks from tomorrow.
