One person was killed and 11 others were injured, five of them seriously, after a state-owned Mexican Petroleum (Pemex) natural gas pipeline exploded in Puebla, Mexico. The explosion damaged many households and vehicles nearby, where residents in the area were evacuated. It was reported that three separate explosions occurred in the natural gas pipeline following the evacuation. Many firefighters were dispatched to the area to fight the fire.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced he would soon accept President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s invitation to visit Türkiye. Speaking in Brussels after meeting NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Merz emphasized Türkiye’s strategic value to NATO and stated his commitment to strengthening the partnership. He added that the German government would soon decide on the potential shipment of fighter jets to Türkiye.
