Owner Transports Sick Calf to Vet in Car Trunk

Sivas resident Ömer Çiftçi displayed an unusual but heartwarming effort to save his 4-day-old calf, which fell ill from the cold. Transporting the ailing calf in the trunk of his car, Çiftçi took it to the veterinarian for treatment. The calf received serum and basked in the sun during the unusual trip. The touching scene of the calf enjoying the sun and sucking its owner’s finger brought smiles. Following the treatment, the once unconscious calf regained consciousness and stood up. Çiftçi explained that the calf, born just four days ago, had fallen ill due to harsh weather conditions, and they traveled around 15-20 kilometers to seek veterinary care.

Families of Sarajevo Victims React to Foreign “Sniper Tourism”

Fikret Grabovica, head of the Association of Families of Children Killed During the Siege of Sarajevo, said families were “shocked” to learn that foreigners allegedly paid Serb forces to shoot civilians, including children, during the Bosnian War. His remarks follow an Italian investigation into possible involvement of Italian nationals in these so-called “manhunts.”

Grabovica said the issue first came to light through the documentary Sarajevo Safari, which included protected witnesses describing foreigners using hunting-style rifles to target civilians. He said some visitors came from Italy, the US, Canada, Russia, and Slovenia, and that children were targeted at a higher “price.”

He called the allegations “unbearable” and urged the Milan investigation to fully identify and prosecute those responsible, noting that domestic prosecution in Bosnia has been limited.
