A fire broke out in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Kamla Nehru Children’s Hospital in Bhopal city of Madhya Pradesh state, 4 babies died, 36 babies were rescued. After the fire was extinguished three hours later, Provincial Prime Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the families of the babies who lost their lives in the disaster would be compensated. The cause of the fire is not yet known, and an investigation has been launched into the incident.
