The 96th Oscar Awards, hosted by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, took place in Los Angeles. “Oppenheimer” emerged as the standout film of the night, winning in 7 categories, including Best Picture. Christopher Nolan received Best Director, and Cillian Murphy was honored as Best Actor for their roles in “Oppenheimer.” Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor, and the film also secured awards for Best Original Soundtrack, Cinematography, and Best Editing. Emma Stone received Best Actress for “Poor Things,” and Da’Vine Joy Randolph was named Best Supporting Actress for “The Holdovers.” Other winners included “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” for Best Short Film, “20 Days in Mariupol” for Best Documentary, and “The Last Repair Shop” for Best Short Documentary. Additionally, “The Boy and the Heron” and “War is Over” received awards in the animation categories.
