Thousands of protesters in Israeli-occupied Jerusalem are continuing their demonstration for early elections, now in its second day. They have gathered outside the Israeli parliament (Knesset), demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. The protest, marked by Israeli flags and calls for political change, has also seen the installation of over 100 tents near the Knesset as demonstrators plan to continue their rally for four days.
Andriy Portnov, former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead in Madrid’s upscale Pozuelo de Alarcon district. Spanish authorities say unidentified gunmen opened fire as the 52-year-old was dropping off his children at school, striking him in the back and head before fleeing.
Portnov, a former MP and lawyer, fled Ukraine with Yanukovych in 2014, briefly returned in 2019, and was later sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged judicial corruption.
