At least 25 people, most of them being agricultural workers, died as a result of lightning strikes during heavy rain in Pakistan’s Balochistan, Punjab and Sindh provinces. Sixteen of the deaths were reported from Punjab, 8 were reported from Baluchistan and the last one was from Sindh province. Additionally, many other people were injured and hospitalized and some houses were damaged during the disaster.
Pakistan Meteorological Office stated that the rains will continue and warned the public to stay indoors, especially during thunderstorms.
