An explosion and fire occurred in a chemical factory in the Map Tha Put province of Thailand at 10.30 local time. The petrochemical company SCG Chemicals reported that 1 person died and 3 others were injured due to the explosion.
A 2-square-kilometer area around the factory was evacuated and the public was warned to wear masks to avoid being exposed to the toxic gas emitted from the fire. The flames were brought under control at 16.50.
