The Slovenian government has decided to officially recognize Palestine as a sovereign state, with a parliamentary vote set for June 4. Prime Minister Robert Golob emphasized that the move aims to promote peace and a two-state solution in the Middle East. Following the decision, the Palestinian flag was displayed on the Slovenian Prime Ministry building. If approved, Slovenia will join 145 other UN member countries in recognizing Palestine.
