Tourists Flock to Istanbul’s Taksim Despite Scorching Heat

Despite temperatures soaring above 35 degrees Celsius, Taksim Square in Istanbul remains bustling with both local and foreign tourists. The General Directorate of Meteorology had warned about the extreme heat, but visitors still flocked to this iconic area.

Many tourists on Istiklal Street struggled with the intense heat. Some used umbrellas for shade, while others sought refuge in any available shaded areas. Ornamental pools in the square provided a cooling spot for both people and animals. One local was even seen helping his dog cool off by letting it walk through a decorative pool.

Despite the challenges posed by the weather, Taksim continues to attract crowds, showcasing its enduring appeal.
