US President Joe Biden addressed the public on American television with a live broadcast from the White House yesterday, 3 days after his decision to withdraw his candidacy from the presidential elections to be held on November 5. Referring to his decision to withdraw, Biden said that he believed that his performance during his presidency deserved a second term but decided that it was time to pass the torch to the new generation without falling into personal ambitions. Expressing that he is honored to serve the American people, the president said that he will focus on serving for the next six months and that he gives his support to current Vice President Kamala Harris, who will be a candidate to replace him in the next elections.
