Hundreds of Baby Caretta Carettas Hatch in Nests in Aydın

A total of 260 baby caretta carettas born in the 5 nests in Kuşadası district of Türkiye’s Aydın province this year ran for the sea to begin their life.

The number of nests, which has been low since 2011, increased on the Kuşadası and Pamucak coasts in 2023. This year, the number of nests in the region reached 7 and a total of 395 eggs were detected in the 5 nests that have been inspected so far.
