The body of Narin Güran, the 8-year-old girl who went missing on August 21st in a village in the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır province in Türkiye and worried the whole country, was found in a sack thrown into a lake in the region. Her body was in a cemetery in a neighboring village today, while her peers started school.

After it was understood that the incident was a case of premeditated murder, 24 people were detained for questioning. One of the detainees confessed that he was the one who took Narin’s body to the lake and that the body was given to him by Salim Güran, Narin’s uncle and also the village headman, who was previously detained and released back. The investigation is ongoing.
