Storm Boris Claims 10 Lives Across Central and Eastern Europe

 

The death toll from Storm Boris, which has caused severe flooding across Austria, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Poland, has risen to 10. The storm, active for three days, forced the evacuation of over 10,500 people in the Czech Republic, where towns like Krnov are severely flooded. Search efforts continue for missing persons near Lipova-lazne.

In Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared a natural disaster as floods claimed more lives, with fatalities reported in Klodzko and Bielsko Biala. Austria also declared parts of Lower Austria as disaster zones, with a firefighter losing his life during rescue efforts. Romania has reported six deaths, and over 700 houses in Galati were severely damaged by the floodwaters.
