Turks commemorated their martyrs and veterans with various demonstrations and military parades organized in many cities as part of the Martyrs’ Day celebrations. Following the demonstrations, government officials and citizens visited martyrs’ cemeteries and laid wreaths.
“We came to visit our beloved martyrs on the occasion of September 19 Veterans Day. Our martyrs and veterans who fought for the independence and future of our country are the source of pride of our nation,” said Kırıkkale Governor Mehmet Makas during a visit to martyrs’ cemetery in Kırıkkale.
