Astrophotographer Murat Helvacıoğlu and his friend Sinan Kendirci photographed the comet C/2023 A3, which scientists say will be visible to the naked eye for the first time in 80,000 years, in Kastomunu province of Türkiye.
The comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) has been observed with binoculars and telescopes on the eastern horizon before sunrise starting Friday, but it will be visible again with the naked eye after a few days due to its very close proximity to the Sun. In addition, according to the predictions of some scientists, the comet, which will come to its closest position to the sun between October 8 and 13, may overheat and disintegrate due to the heat of the sun and solar winds. If the comet does not disintegrate, it will be observed again on the western horizon after sunset starting in mid-October.
