Claudia Sheinbaum Sworn in as Mexico’s First Female President

Claudia Sheinbaum, the winner of Mexico’s June 2 elections, has been sworn in as the country’s first female president. The inauguration took place at the Congress building in Mexico City, attended by over 100 foreign representatives, including Latin American leaders and US First Lady Jill Biden.

Sheinbaum, who secured 59.76% of the vote, officially assumed office at the San Lazaro legislative palace, marking a historic moment in Mexican politics.
