New footage of Russian prison violence emerged after images of torture and beating of prisoners were leaked to the Russian press in recent months. It was observed that violence was used against a prisoner who had an argument with the guards in the cell, and that a guard raped the prisoner who was crammed into a bunk bed in the footage. Another prisoner was violently assaulted by guards, and he was then thrown out the prison window. The internet platform, where the images were shared, claimed to have 200 gigabytes of rape, violence, and beating images.
After emergence of images showing violence, torture, beatings, and rape in a prison in Saratov, Russia, the Regional Director of the Russian Federal Prison Service (FSIN), the prison director, and many guards had been fired, and their trial had began.
