The US Central Command (CENTCOM) released images showing missile launches from US Navy warships defending Israel against Iranian airstrikes. According to CENTCOM, on October 1, the USS Cole and USS Bulkeley, destroyers from the US Navy’s 6th Fleet in the Eastern Mediterranean, fired ballistic missiles to intercept Iranian missiles aimed at Israel. The footage was captured aboard the USS Bulkeley.
US Navy 6th Fleet Spokesperson Captain Bill Urban confirmed that the Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted. He highlighted the role of the Aegis ballistic missile defense system, which equipped both destroyers.
