The United States, which continues to evacuate its citizens in Lebanon, evacuated 50 US citizens from Beirut to Istanbul on a special flight today. Forty people in the group, which was welcomed by the US Consulate in Istanbul, were accommodated in hotels in the city, while the rest went to their countries of residence on transit flights.
The USA has evacuated about 1,000 citizens from Lebanon so far.
