Israeli forces targeted the predominantly Christian village of Aitou in northern Lebanon’s Zgharta region, killing 18 people. This marks the first time Israel has attacked a Christian-majority area in the year-long conflict. The Lebanese Red Cross confirmed the death toll, while search and rescue operations are ongoing. The attack expands Israel’s bombardment beyond southern Lebanon into the north.
