Sixty-five-year-old Swedish adventurer Jari Cennet Tammi, who started his swimming adventure from Istanbul, Türkiye to Spain by taking breaks on the shores with his tent, gave an interview in Uçmakdere in the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ, where he was accommodated by a Turkish couple. Tammi, who aims to cover the approximately 10,000 kilometers of distance between the two countries in 10 years, says he likes to survive alone.
“This is an action that we think should be heard about very much in the world. He set such a goal by swimming 8,000 kilometers and passing 10 countries along the coastline. When we heard about it, we wanted to host him; we invited him and he accepted us. We wanted to support him in this regard; that’s why we are together,” said Mesut Ayvacıklı, one of the Turks who greeted him.
