The Georgian Dream Party maintained its position in government by winning 54.86 percent of the votes in Georgian parliamentary elections, in which 18 parties raced, yesterday.
The Georgian Central Election Commission reported that 2,060,412 voters cast their votes and the voter turnout was 58.9 percent.
The elections held yesterday to elect the 11th parliament in Georgia were held for the first time in the country’s history using a fully proportional representation system and electronic voting.
