Turkish Company Signs 30-year Cement Deal in Afghanistan

The Afghan Ministry of Mines and Turkish-based 77 Construction have signed a $163 million, 30-year contract to build a cement factory in Jawzjan province. Announced at a ceremony in Kabul, the project aims to produce 3,000 tons of cement annually and provide jobs for 1,200 people during the operational phase. Afghan Deputy Minister Mullah Hedayatullah Badri welcomed the agreement, emphasizing Afghanistan’s drive for cement production self-sufficiency, with a total of $476 million in deals secured for similar projects across the country.
