The heavy rains that hit the Algarve region in southern Portugal yesterday caused a storm. While businesses in the Albufeira district were flooded, vehicles were swept away by floodwaters in the Moncarapacho region.
A severe flood alert was issued for the Faro region in the south of the country until 21:00 local time today.
