Ancient Roman Road in Ankara Nears Completion

 

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has completed 90% of the restoration of the 2,000-year-old Ancient Roman Road in Ulus Historical City Center. Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced the progress, stating, “Two thousand years of history is waking up.”

The project, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, includes restoring ancient shop walls, installing safety walkways, and adding lighting and information panels to highlight the site’s historical significance. Once completed, the site is expected to become a major cultural attraction for both locals and tourists.
