Flames on the torches that were used during a ceremony held in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, India, to commemorate those who lost their lives in an attack on November 28, 2009, spread to the surrounding area while being put out in a container filled with water. The fire, which engulfed dozens of people and caused great panic, was extinguished in a short time. Police reported that 30 people, including children, were injured. It was stated that 18 of the injured who were taken to the hospital were discharged, and 12 are still receiving treatment and are not in mortal danger.
