Protests in Georgia intensified after the government’s decision to delay EU accession negotiations until 2028. Demonstrators in Tbilisi attacked the parliament building with fireworks and stones, prompting security forces to respond with water cannons from inside the building.

In Batumi, near the Turkish border, protesters gathered outside the Adjara Government Building, waving EU and Georgian flags and calling for the release of detained demonstrators. The protests, now in their fourth day, reflect widespread dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s decision.

Train Collision Near Bratislava Injures 18

At least 18 people were injured when two passenger trains collided on a suburban line between Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, and the nearby town of Pezinok. The injured were taken to four hospitals under Bratislava University Hospital.

Authorities said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and Slovak Railways has launched an inquiry. The incident follows another train accident in eastern Slovakia last month that injured 20 people.
