Police in Georgia raided opposition party offices and detained Nika Gvaramiya, leader of the Droa party, amid ongoing protests against the government’s decision to halt EU accession talks until 2028.

Authorities claimed the raids targeted locations storing fireworks allegedly used against police. Gvaramiya was detained following a verbal altercation during the raid, with the Ministry of Internal Affairs stating his detention was under the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Local media also reported raids on activists’ homes, leading to additional arrests as tensions escalate in the capital, Tbilisi.
