Following the Syrian National Army’s (SNA) recapture of Tel Rifaat from the PKK/YPG, residents trapped for eight years began moving toward Afrin. The SNA demolished a 1-kilometer wall erected by the PKK/YPG to block passage between Tel Rifaat and Afrin, enabling families to reunite.
One resident, Abu Hanef, expressed his relief: “We have been trapped for eight years. Now we are finally going to reunite with our families in Afrin.”
