Thick fog in Türkiye’s Diyarbakır, particularly in the central Sur district, reduced visibility to as low as 30 meters in some areas, prompting cautious driving. While transportation remained unaffected, drivers used hazard lights in heavily affected zones.
The fog added a mystical touch to landmarks like the İçkale campus, Hevsel Gardens, the UNESCO-listed Diyarbakır Walls, and the Ongözlü Bridge. Remziye Yıldız, a visitor from İzmir, described the city as “very beautiful” and noted that the fog enhanced the charm of the historic sites, creating postcard-like scenes.
