Israeli forces carried out an airstrike yesterday on the municipality building in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir el-Balah. Ten Palestinians, including Deir el-Balah Mayor Diab al-Jarro, were killed. Many Palestinians were injured because the municipality building was located near a market with a large population of civilians.
Jarro, whom Israel had previously attempted to assassinate twice, became the fourth mayor to die in Israeli attacks.
