A severe snowstorm in Bosnia and Herzegovina has disrupted daily life, closing roads and halting train services. Around 200,000 households are without electricity due to damaged power lines caused by continuous snowfall since Monday.

In Banja Luka, primary schools were closed, while traffic accidents led to long delays nationwide. Near the town of Drvar, 70 people, including children, were rescued in a 10-hour operation after being stranded in snow over two meters deep.

Two Turkish citizens traveling from Sarajevo to Mostar were also rescued after being stranded on Prenj Mountain. Snowfall has reached 30 cm in Sarajevo, where residents are struggling with icy sidewalks. The storm is expected to persist until Thursday.

At least 26 people have died after Typhoon Kalmaegi struck the central Philippines, most of them in Cebu province. Governor Pamela Baricuatro described the flooding as “truly devastating,” saying residents were caught off guard by rising waters. The storm is now heading toward central Vietnam, with scientists warning that climate change is intensifying such extreme weather events.
