Israel launched attacks on the Gaza Strip from late at night until early morning, killing at least 19 Palestinians in the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah.
Hamas announced Salah al-Bardawil, a Hamas Political Bureau official, and his wife were also killed in the attacks.
“His blood, along with the blood of the martyrs, will continue to encourage the struggle for liberation and independence. The criminal enemy will not be able to break our resolve and will,” Hamas officials said.
