US President Donald Trump signed a decree that foresees a 25 percent tariff on imported cars in order to increase domestic production at a signing ceremony at the White House.

Reiterating his claim that other countries have benefited from the US economically so far Trump said, “This is the beginning of our country’s salvation.”

The tariff on imported cars will go into effect on April 2.
