Wild fires in Puerto Madryn, in the northeastern province of Chubut in Argentina’s Patagonia region, burned 90,000 hectares of land, authorities said. The fire was reported to be moving towards the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus, which connects Chubut province to the Valdes Peninsula. It is stated that the areas most affected by the flames are the cities of Puerto Madryn and Puerto Piramides in the Biedma region. The fire currently continues in the area north of the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus. It was stated that the spreading flames completely destroyed a large area where natural vegetation and many animals live together.
