One of the most active volcanoes in the world, Mount Nyiragongo volcano located at Goma city in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) became active. The volcano, which last erupted in May of last year, spewed ash and smoke into the sky. Geologists from Goma Volcano Observatory (GVO) stated that there is an increase in seismic activity in volcano.
On the other hand, the eruption that happened on May 22 caused 32 people to lost their lives and thousands of people to abandon their homes. A large number of people fled to DRC’s neighboring country Rwanda, while others that left behind are still living in temporary camps in the Goma city.
