Israeli Ambassador Yuval Waks faced strong protests during a planned speech at Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Dakar, Senegal. Students chanted “Free Palestine,” “Free Gaza,” and “Israel is a war criminal,” while waving Palestinian flags and booing the ambassador.
Waks, who was invited to speak at a conference on international relations, was unable to deliver his speech due to the protest. He left the campus as students continued to follow and denounce him. UCAD is Senegal’s largest and most prominent university.
